Changing neighbourhood services in your area - West

Overview

Neighbourhood services in West Leicester are going to change.

The city council wants to work with local people and groups to make libraries, adult learning and community services fit for the future:

1. Find out more from staff in your local centre;
2. Submit your views online;
3. Pick up a leaflet from any council venue.

Why your views matter

The way in which local library, adult learning and community services are provided is going to have to change due to significant cuts in government funding.

To ensure that local communities have a say in these changes, the city council is inviting you and other local residents to share your experiences of the services in your area, and give your opinions about the options for change:

• We want to work with communities to make changes now, before it becomes critical;
• We are reviewing how neighbourhood services are run to make sure that they are affordable and support people to develop their potential;
• Leicester City Council is committed to providing high quality neighbourhood services.

You can find an information pack for each building as an attachment below. Please note, there is not currently an information pack available for the West End Community Centre or the Woodgate Resource Centre.

What happens next

We will consider all the ideas that people put forward and then hold a public meeting to feed back with proposals for change in the area.  This will form part of a full public consultation in summer 2014.
